Where to eat in Madrid: Lateral

When meeting friends in Madrid, food always seems to be involved. This means I have eaten some of the best food in Madrid.

The other week we went to lateral, in Plaza San Ana, one of their six locations.

At Lateral they take traditional pinchos and give them a unique twist.

Pictured above is the Degustación de pinchos (appetiser sampling). It includes: pincho lateral (lateral appetiser), solomillo con cebolla confitada (sirloin with caramelised onion), queso de cabra con pimiento del piquillo (goat cheese with sweet red peppers), brie con salmón (brie with salmon), croqueta de jamón y croqueta de boletus (ham croquette and boletus croquette).

I have only sampled a few of their pinchos, but I will be back for more. Just look at how delicious they are!

Bacalao (salted cold)

Mushroom risotto

And finally the best part of any meal…..the dessert!
crepes rellenos con dulce de leche.

I will definitely be going back to lateral soon. Not only do they have good food but they aren’t too expensive either. Their pinchos range from €1.55 to around €8 depending on what you order and their Degustación de pinchos (appetiser sampling) costs €15.90. Also a glass of wine costs between €2.30 and €3.20, so you will sure to have a good night!

Have you ever been to lateral?
