This past August was my fourth visit to Palermo in ten months.
You are probably wondering why I have been so many times. Well the bfs parents are living there now and we went together to visit. I know the city quite well by now but every time I go I always see something new and fall in love again!
So here are some reasons why you should go to Palermo.
The pretty balconies. Look upwards when walking around Palermo.
The green palm trees. Go to and sit on the benches near teatro Politeama with a gelato.
The gelato from Briosica. If the picture doesn’t convince you check out my post about briosica here.
The pretty boats at the port. Take a walk along the port and watch the beautiful blue sea.
See the teatro Massimo, Italy’s biggest theatre lit up at night.
See the bustling Balleró market. Have a little wonder around, but be careful of the vespas zipping in and out of the market.
Stop at the Vucciria market for a bite to eat or a drink. Lots of cheap seafood for sale by street food vendors. Look out for signs for wodka shots!
Go for a passeggiata in the centre. Take a stroll around like the Italians do.
The beautiful buildings. Always look around and take in the beauty of the city.
Gelatone, one of the top 20 gelateria’s in the world.
Ananchini. Those deep-fried rice balls with amazing fillings! Ke Palle has 100 flavours.
The panelle (made from chickpea flour and fried) and crocche (potato croquettes like you have never tasted before).
Have you ever been to Palermo?
