Good Friday in Palermo

Over the Easter holidays I spent some time in Palermo.

Like in Spain they have processions on Good Friday. They go on for many hours. I really enjoyed seeing the processions. Here are a few snaps of the processions I saw.

They played music which was quite haunting. It was like you could hear pain in the music as they carried extremely heavy statues. In fact the statues were so heavy that they could only carry them a few metres before stopping!

All in all it was nice to see another country’s Easter tradition.

Ciao,

Lorena ☺
