Italian word of the week: Donna

Today is the 8th of March and it’s international women’s day (IWD). Therefore my Italian word of the week is Donna.

Donna means woman.
Donne (plural) means women.

In Italy traditionally men give women mimosa flowers. IWD seems to be a big deal here in Italy, unlike in the UK. We really all should remember the achievements of women on this day.

The mimosa the bf gave me.

So happy feste delle donne (IWD).

What does your country do on IWD to celebrate? Is it a national holiday? Do you give flowers or presents? Write a comment below.

Ciaooo for now
